Colorbar Precision Waterproof Eyeliner Review

Hi guys.Hope you all doing well.

In this week’s blogpost, I will be reviewing the Colorbar Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner.

I am someone who has always loved using the stick liners or markers and was never a big fan of liquid liners. I have used liquid liners in the past but I wasn't impressed by any of them particularly. However, I wanted a matte liquid liner and I came across this Colorbar liquid liner about a month back. Since then I have only been using this product and the results have been great.

So without any further ado lets get into the review.

Price

Rs. 350 for 2.5ml

Packaging

The liquid liner is packed in a silver box, which has the name and details mentioned.
The liquid liner is packed in a black bottle with a long silver cap.
It is really small and light weight, making it easy for you to carry in your bag.
It has a felt tip applicator which works really well for me, to apply a thin liner or even while making a wing.

Colour

The Colorbar Liquid Liner is available only in black in a matte finish.

Claims

The Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is long-lasting and does not smudge, crack, flake or peel. With its high definition flexible felt tip applicator, one stroke is enough to define a fine or thick line. Fast drying, Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is suitable for sensitive eyes and those who wear contact lenses too.

Longevity

This liquid eyeliner lasts for a really long time. It lasts for about 10 hours easily. Towards the end of the day it does tend to get a little dull. However it stays throughout the day without peelings or smudging. It dries matte, almost immediately after the application and it is completely waterproof and smudge proof.

Pros

Waterproof and smudge proof
long lasting and dries immediately
The felt tip works well
Does not irritate the eyes
Trave friendly

Cons

The quantity is a little less.
Felt tip may not be suitable for everyone .

Verdict

This has become one of my favourite liners within no time. Since I have started using this liquid liner, I haven’t gone back to any of the stick liners. This is a really good choice if you’re looking for a matte liquid liner, which is waterproof and long lasting. All those who are confident with applying liquid liners with a felt tip, you should definitely consider this for your next buy. If you are not very sturdy or have shaky hands, you could always stick to the felt stick liner.
This is definitely one of my favourites and something I highly recommend.

That’s all for this post. I hope this review was helpful. We shall be back with a blogpost next week.

How I Clean My Beauty Blender.

Hi guys! Hope you all are doing well.

In this week’s post, I will be sharing how I clean my beauty blender or make up sponges.

Like I mentioned in my post on How I Clean My Brushes, it is extremely important to clean your make up tools regularly in order to prevent the growth of any sort of bacteria on it. The beauty blender is my favourite make up tool since it can be used for so many things I own the original Beauty Blender. However I prefer the PAC Beauty Blender over it.
If you would like to me to do a post on it, comment below.

A lot of bloggers like using the same method I shared in my How I Clean My Brushes post
for their beauty blender. However I personally feel the sponge soaks in too much of the solution and washing it off damages the beauty blender.

Luckily, PAC launched a dupe for the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser. It is packaged similarly and does an equally good job. However is much more affordable.

Price.

The PAC Solid Brush Cleanser retails for Rs.600 for 32g on Amazon.

Packaging.

The PAC Solid Brush Cleanser comes in a spherical box with cleanser placed inside.

Fragrance.

The PAC Solid Brush Cleanser has a mild fragrance but it does not transfer into the beauty blender.

Usage.

Wet the dirty beauty blender throughly. Dip it into the solid cleanser. Massage it gently over the spots it has been stained. Repeat the process until all stains have disappeared. This usually takes around 2-3 minutes.
Ensure there is water left in the solid cleanser box as it would cause the cleanser to melt.
You can use the PAC Solid Brush Cleanser to clean brushes as well. However I feel it is more suitable for Beauty Blenders and make up sponges.

Alternative Method.

If you do not want to spend on a solid cleanser, you can use a face wash instead. Just wet the blender and apply the face wash all over it. Gently massage it especially on spots it has been stained. This method takes a little longer to clean and dry but works equally well. You can use any face wash. I recommend a face wash with anti bacterial properties like the VLCC Alpine Mint & Tea Tree Face Wash.

Nykaa So Matte Lipstick Review.

Hey guys! Hope you all are doing well.

In this week’s post, I will be reviewing the Nykaa So Matte Lipstick

The “My Favourite Everyday Lipsticks” post received a lot of love from you. Just a few days after that post, I received my Nykaa parcel with the Nykaa So Matte Lipstick and it fit into the category so well that I had to share it with you.

So without any further ado lets get into the review.

Price

The Nykaa So Matte Lipstick retails for Rs.400 for 4.2gm.

Shade

There are 12 shades available in this range. They include everyday nudes, deep shades and bright poppy colors meant for the Indian skin tone. I have the shade Taupe Thrill which is a nude brown colour.

Swatch of Nykaa So Matte Lipstick in Taupe Thrill.

Packaging

The Nykaa So Matte Lipstick body comes packaged in a box, which is rare with drugstore lipsticks. The box is red in colour and mentions the shade, ingredients and claims. In contrast, the body of the lipstick is matte black. It has the shade mentioned at the bottom and Nykaa written over it. The body of the lipstick is square shaped. The cap of the body clicks magnetically shut. Honestly the packaging gives the whole lipstick a rich feel.

Fragrance

The Nykaa So Matte Lipstick has an extremely slight minty smell that goes away soon.

Application

The Nykaa So Matte Lipstick claims to be matte but I would call it semi matte. It does dry up to quite an extent in the first 10 minutes. However it does not dry up completely and thus transfers a little reducing its wear time to 3-4 hours on an average. It glides on smoothly. It is highly pigmented and making application of only one coat more than enough. It can be re-applied easily.

 Pros

Affordable.
Classy and expensive looking packaging.
Vitamin E enriched.
Wide shade range.

Cons

Not completely matte.
Needs to be re-applied every 4 hours.

My Verdict

Even though this lipstick is not totally matte, for the price, it is totally worth it. The packaging is beautiful. It is comfortable to wear and travel friendly. Overall, I feel this lipstick is the perfect gift for anyone you want to treat. Your mom, your sister or even yourself. It is totally pocket friendly and still a quality product.

That is all for this post. I hope you found it useful. If you have any suggestion, please leave it down in a comment.

Chambor’s Xtreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipstick Review

Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well.

In this week’s post, I will be reviewing Chambor’s Xtreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipstick.
Liquid lipstick have been quite a fad for a while now. We too love liquid lipsticks because they give a flawless finish and look amazing. Every brand in the market has come up with their own liquid matte lipsticks. Chambor’s Xtreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipstick was launched in India a few months ago and I have been using it for over a month now.

Price: Rs 845 for 6ml.

Shade
There are 18 shades available in the market; all of which go well with the Indian skin tone. I have 401 which is an everyday nude pink colour.

Packaging
Each liquid lipstick comes in a black box with the logo and the name of the product on the box. The liquid lipstick comes in a transparent glass tube and a long wand with a black cap. The packaging is really classy and makes the product feel worth that money.

Fragrance
The liquid lipstick has a mild mint fragrance that does not go away.

Application
The liquid lipsticks have a matte finish and dry up within 5 minutes of application.  It stays for 8-10 hours which is quite a lot. While eating or drinking, the lipstick does lose a little bit of its colour intensity. However it does not disappear. These lipsticks are highly pigmented and thus one should be careful while applying them. One coat of application is more than enough. I personally feel it does not dry up completely matte if there is more than 2 coats of liquid lipstick.

Pros
The wand makes application extremely easy.
The liquid lipstick is long lasting and does not need a touch up every few hours.
The range of Chambor’s Xtreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipsticks has a variety of shades that complement Indian skin tone.
The liquid lipsticks have a completely matte finish.

Cons
Not pocket friendly
Some people might find it too drying for their lips.

That is all for this post. Hope you liked it. We would really appreciate your feedback. For regular updates, follow our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/compactmatters/.

VLCC Gold Facial Kit Review.

Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well.

In this week’s post, I will be doing a first impressions cum review of VLCC’s Gold Kit. The festive season is nearing and I have never done a facial before so I thought it is the perfect time to give it a try.

The VLCC Gold Facial Kit retails for Rs.250 for 6 products of 10g each. These must be used in a sequence for best results. They are as follows:

The first step is a cleanser cum toner. It is a pre-facial product with aloe vera.
It is comes in form of a cream which must be massaged into your face and neck for 3 minutes and gently wipe it off with a moist cotton pad.
The purpose of this step is to cleanse my skin and minimise my pores.

The second step is a scrub with turmeric and gold leaf.
It comes in form of a gel which must be massaged into your face and neck for 5 minutes after which it must be washed with water and dabbed dry with a towel.
The purpose of this step is to exfoliate my skin and remove blackheads.

The third step is a gel with galnut and gold leaf.
It obviously comes in form of a gel which must be massaged into your face and neck until it is completely absorbed. In my case, this took about 2 minutes.
The purpose of this step is to provide nourishment to my skin.

The fourth step is a cream with wheatgerm and gold oxide. It is rich in Vitamin C and E and contains sandalwood.
It obviously comes in form of a gel which must be massaged into your face and neck until it is completely absorbed. In my case, this took about 5 minutes.
The purpose of this step is to reduce skin pigmentation and polish my skin.

The fifth step is a peel off mask with lemon peel and gold oxide.
It comes in form of a thin gel which must be applied in a thin layer with one’s finger tips all over the neck and face. After it dries, it must be peeled off gently. In my case, this took about 30 minutes.
The purpose of the step is to maintain the pH level of the skin and pull out pollutants.

The sixth and final step is moisturiser. It is a post facial product with aloe vera. It contains SPF 15 and PA+.
It comes in form of a clear gel which must be applied all over your face and neck evenly.
The purpose of this step is to moisturise the skin and protect it from sun damage.

The Steps
At the end of the first step, my skin felt sticky. However I felt my pores minimise.
After the second step, I felt that the scrub was too gentle to see any actual exfoliation. However it did clean up my skin well.
The third step is probably my favourite one. It gave my face a natural healthy glow.
The fourth step was a little unnecessary. The cream was really thick and it made my skin look oily.
The fifth step needed some patience but it did a good job clearing my skin. Initially there is a slight tingling sensation which settles in no time.
The sixth step is pretty straight and simple. It settles right into the skin without any problem.

Pros
None of the products have a strong fragrance.
There is more than enough product for one time use.
It provides a beautiful natural glow.
It is pocket friendly.
It does not require any application tools or brushes.

Cons
The individual packaging of the Gold Facial Kit is a little messy while using.
As a whole process, it requires about an hour which is a little time consuming.

Over all this product does what it promises to do. You can use this once in a month when you have an event coming up and have some time on your hand. The VLCC facial kit has other variants as well. Comment below if you would like to know more about them.
